The FSSCC submitted a sur-reply letter to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) regarding the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) Cybersecurity Assessment Tool (CAT). In the letter, the sector incorporated the September 21, 2015 submission and additionally highlighted four key assertions and recommendations.

FSSCC letter to Senator Warren and Representative Cummings
On Dec. 9, the FSSCC sent a letter to Senator Warren of the Banking Committee and Representative Cummings of the Government Reform Committee in response to their inquiry to 16 financial services companies regarding cyber-attacks and breaches against their institutions.

Joint National Priorities for Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience
The Cross-Sector Councils on November 12 released the "Joint National Priorities", developed under the National Infrastructure Protection Plan to "guide the efforts and inform the decisions of the critical infrastructure community to enhance security and resilience". While not identical in language, the agreed Joint National Priorities align with those of the FSSCC, and we supported this effort.

In response to a request for information by the National Institute of Standards and Technology about industry awareness and use of the of the Cybersecurity Framework released last February, the FSSCC submitted on October 10 its summary of two separate surveys it conducted with FSSCC members, and smaller institutions in the FS-ISAC membership.

FSSCC Names Russell Fitzgibbons New Chair
Russell Fitzgibbons, executive vice president and chief risk officer, The Clearing House, was named as the new FSSCC Chairman during the Council's recent meeting in New York City. Fitzgibbons takes over from Charles Blauner, global head of information security for Citi, whose two-year term as the FSSCC chair included important accomplishments in improving the state of security and resilience of the financial sector.
